Rev Speers traces four elements essential to genuine repentance: the sob of confession, the cry for cleansing, the plea to Christ as the great physician of souls, and the appeal for God's clemency and mercy. Drawing on Spurgeon, Calvin, Luther, Owen, Augustine and other voices, along with illustrations ranging from a broken watch to the 1854 London cholera outbreak, he calls listeners to bring their sin-sick souls to Christ alone for true healing.
