Morning Sermon - 7th December 2025 - The Servant Who Comforts the Weary

This morning's sermon is delivered by Rev. George Speers.

Preaching from Isaiah 50 on Christmas morning, the Reverend George Speers explores how the prophet's ancient words about the suffering Servant speak directly to those walking through the season with a heavy heart. Rev Speers draws out three gifts God gives the weary through Christ: a servant skilled in God's word, a servant submissive to God's will, and a servant sure of God's help. Along the way he draws on Spurgeon, Calvin, Owen, and the story of Covenanter martyrdom to show that the Christmas gift that truly matters is the servant-Saviour himself, born in Bethlehem and still present with his people today.
