Morning Sermon - 2nd August 2026 - Christ, the Prophet Greater than Moses

Preaching from Acts 3:11-26, the Reverend George Speers examines Peter's sermon in Solomon's Portico to show that Jesus is the promised prophet greater than Moses. Rev Speers unpacks three themes from Acts 3:22-23 – the supremacy of Christ the Deliverer, the comprehensive duty to obey everything he says, and the fearful doom awaiting those who refuse to hear him. Drawing on Calvin, Owen, Edwards, Watson, Spurgeon and Bunyan, he calls listeners to test whether they truly hear and obey Christ, or merely admire him, warning that mercy's door will not stay open forever.
