Preaching from Jonah chapter 4, Mr Stephen Buchanan explores why Jonah was so furious that God showed mercy to the Ninevites, and asks whether we share Jonah's self-righteous anger at seeing 'undeserving' people receive grace. Drawing on Matthew 9 and the parable of the lost son in Luke 15, he contrasts Jonah's hateful anger with God's patient, generous compassion towards lost sinners, and points to the cross as the ultimate demonstration of that compassion. A challenging call to examine our own attitudes towards evangelism and towards those we consider undeserving of God's grace.
