Evening Sermon - 30th August 2026 - God's comfort in every affliction

Preaching from 2 Corinthians 1:1-11, the Reverend George Speers explores how God meets his people in suffering as 'the God of all comfort'. Drawing on biblical examples including Paul, Job, Daniel, Peter and Joseph, Rev Speers traces four ways God brings comfort: through deliverance, compensation, sanctification and discovery. He closes with a moving true story about a poem written by Dietrich Bonhoeffer in prison and how it brought comfort full circle across decades and continents.
