Drawing on Calvin, Spurgeon, Chrysostom, Matthew Henry and others, Rev Speers explores the mystery of the magi's identity, the irony of Jerusalem's indifference, and the costly worship these pagan astrologers offered the Christ child. He closes by challenging listeners to consider whether they resemble the knowledgeable but unmoved scribes, or the seeking, worshipping wise men.
