Continuing a series in Haggai, Mr David Colvin looks at chapter two, where the returned exiles are discouraged that the rebuilt temple seems so much less impressive than Solomon's original. He traces how God promises a greater glory for this temple through his presence, ultimately fulfilled when Christ himself taught within its courts, and points forward to the church as God's true, greater temple built through the gospel. Mr Colvin closes by encouraging the congregation that, like Zerubbabel and the remnant, they are part of God's eternal purposes, however small their part may seem.
