Evening Sermon - 1st March 2026 - Elijah's Prayer and the Power of a Godly Plea

Preaching from 1 Kings 18:41-46 alongside James 5, the Reverend George Speers explores Elijah's prayer for rain after the confrontation on Mount Carmel. Rev Speers draws out three lessons: the fervent, humble confidence of the prophet's prayer grounded in God's promises, the sovereign freedom of God in how and when He answers prayer, and the solemn challenge to King Ahab—and to us—not to harden our hearts against the gracious opportunities God gives to repent and believe.
