Evening Sermon - 12th October 2025 - Forgiveness, Grace, and Onesimus's Return

This evening's sermon is delivered by Mr David Colvin.

In this second look at Paul's letter to Philemon, Mr David Colvin explores Paul's tender appeal on behalf of the runaway slave Onesimus, now a brother in Christ. He draws out the letter's picture of the gospel — our rebellion against our true Master, and Christ's offer to pay our debt — and challenges the congregation to practise unconditional forgiveness within the fellowship, just as Philemon was called to receive Onesimus back in love.
